It’s been an interesting week. I gave my first author talk in years to a local group in my home town on Thursday afternoon. People said they enjoyed it, which is always good to hear, although one always feels that there is room for improvement.
Sounds a bit like a school report – “room for improvement”, but I firmly believe we should always strive to do better. I certainly do. Now I’m sounding sanctimonious – sorry. Funnily enough, I have another author talk on Monday – talk about buses!
Apart from that I have been doing the usual things that I do in the course of the average week – knitting, reading, studying French and Spanish. No time for writing because I am too busy thinking about what I am going to say in my talks. My piece on procrastination last week becomes particularly relevant when considering my knitting. I have knitted myself a jumper, but am struggling with the sewing up. I deeply dislike sewing and am no good at it either! Whilst I have been procrastinating over the sewing up, I have almost knitted a blanket for a premature baby, but I promise I am going to do some sewing just as soon as I have finished writing this. I shall also hold myself responsible for telling you how I got on, next week.
Until then…
With love
