I don’t know about you, but I love word puzzles and do The New York Times ones every day. My favourites are Wordle and Spelling Bee. I’m a very unhappy bunny if I can’t find the panagram in the latter and have to seek the assistance of Mr A! However, on the mornings when I find two panagrams, I am ecstatic.
Going back to Wordle, I am extremely cross with myself on the rare occasion that I don’t solve the puzzle and lose my streak. One has to remember that the puzzles are American, which can, of course, affect the spelling. That is a huge irritant.
I guess I enjoy word puzzles so much because I love words. Just as well, as I am a writer. I have favourite words in various languages and find it particularly delightful when one crops up in conversation or literature. I find vestibule especially pleasing, but sadly it isn’t a word one comes across very frequently. My grandmother had one back in the 50s, but I certainly don’t know anyone who has one now.
How about you? What’s your favourite word? Why not share it with me?
Whatever kind of puzzler you are, I hope you have a successful week.
With love
Antonia xx
