Should you find yourself in North Wales and be in need of food/accommodation, might I suggest Plas Dinas Country House? Formerly the home of the Armstrong-Jones family and in fact still owned by David Armstrong-Jones, this delightful house offers eleven bedrooms. We stayed in the Princess Margaret suite last week, so named because the Princess used to visit Plas Dinas when she was married to Anthony Armstrong-Jones.
The suite was delightful, complete with royal memorabilia, which can be found through the house. There are many family portraits adorning the walls and books of Tony Armstrong-Jones’s photographs, but where the hotel comes into its own is with the fine dining experience. This is a taster menu of eight courses plus coffee and petit fours. It starts with drinks in the Drawing Room before moving into the Gun Room Restaurant.
All in all a very pleasant couple of days away.
With love from
Antonia xx
